Its that time of the year again when we’re stocking up on foods for the holidays and cranberries are top of the list for me. They’re in season from September through to the end of December and are likely to be a staple of many dinner tables this Thursday.
They’re amazing added to stuffing’s, sauces and mocktails. Cranberries are a fabulous source of vitamin C and just one cup offers up around 15% of your fibre needs.
You may have heard about the benefits of drinking cranberry juice to help with urinary tract infections and yes it can be a natural diuretic and may increase the acidity in our urine, however, the verdicts still out as to whether it will actually treat that case of cystitis BUT good news is it may help ward off UTI’s if you’re prone to them.
Just remember that cranberry juice is likely to be high in sugar.
